General
business posting group
issue on Prod Orders
Normally this is defined as the group assigned to the sub ledger (vendor, customer etc). But for production orders, and specifically the Regenerative Plan, the default setting for this group is blank. Not useful if you have not created a mix of business and product posting groups for blank business posting groups. Why would you? So the fix is getting your hands dirty in the requisition table - a quick fix but effective. More details available from us! [Nov 09] |
| For
the Nav developer accessing
many versions of a local test database You can get Nav to confirm the database name (and other details) on log in. Useful if you checking between different versions (dates) of databases for the same client. Available from www.mibuso.com or contact us. [Nov 09] |
| Emailing
reports and other data This is relatively easy in Nav using codeunits 397 or 400 assuming some form of Outlook integration. But it is also easy without full Outlook integration as long as you can confirm your business smtp server. An example of Outlook integration can be found here on www.mibuso.com. For alternatives, call or email us! [Oct 09] |
| Approval
templates Example approval templates can be loaded into Nav as htm files. But this is not straight forward for the average user. You can import some Cronus examples (not loaded by default) by exporting these from the Cronus database. [Oct 09] |
| Updating
shipments for UPS tracking numbers This was a requirement to updated posted shipment headers in Nav for UPS tracking numbers. The best way (subject to available tables under the client's licence in Nav) is to load data into a temporary table as text files for each column, validate, amend data and report on errors to the user. | Bank
reconciliations The standard Nav process for completing bank recs is to get Nav to suggest potential bank statement lines after you have confirmed the latest bank statement balance, reference number and date. But if your preference is to complete the matching process outside Nav in Excel for example, Nav can bve developed to load in the matched data in the same way as Suggest Lines work. The key difference is that the user will not need to delete lines not required and if you have thousands of matched lines to load, it is a god send! Developed for a client so that data could be loaded from an excel spreadsheet and then data loaded. User just then posts. If there is just 1 error with the data, data not loaded but all errors with the lines loaded identified and displayed via a form. Of course, as long as you can provide rules, there is no reason why you could not load bank data in this way and then get Nav to do the matching. [Jul 10] |
| Rules Nav is a rules based application and can cope with any process that uses rules. So if you are completing a process outside of Nav, it may be possible (and more process effecient) to include these processes in Nav and build in the same rules. |
